Seedfast Terms of Service

Welcome to Seedfast! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Seedfast CLI tool, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). Please read these Terms carefully before using Seedfast. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use Seedfast.

1. Introduction

Seedfast provides an AI-powered command-line tool that automates database seeding for developers. By using Seedfast, you acknowledge that you understand and accept the responsibilities outlined in these Terms.

2. Definitions

“Service” refers to the Seedfast CLI tool, website (seedfa.st), and any related offerings.

“User” refers to anyone who accesses or uses the Service.

“Content” refers to all text, data, code, and materials provided or generated through the Service.

“Seeding Run” refers to a single execution of the Service intended to generate and insert data into a database.

“Unlimited Seeding” refers to pricing plans that include an unlimited number of Seeding Runs in practice, subject to Fair Use and system protection measures.

“Fair Use” refers to usage patterns consistent with typical development and testing workflows. Because databases vary widely in size, structure, and complexity, Seedfast reserves the right to interpret Fair Use reasonably to maintain reliability and sustainability for all users.

“Abusive or Extreme Usage” refers to usage that significantly exceeds normal development patterns (including, without limitation, attempts to overload, stress-test, or degrade the Service, or automated usage that materially impacts platform stability).

3. Grant of License

Seedfast grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the Service for legitimate development and testing purposes. This license does not transfer any ownership or intellectual property rights.

4. User Responsibilities

As a User, you agree to:

  • Use the Service only in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Avoid using the Service for illegal, malicious, or unauthorized purposes.

  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or exploit the Service in ways not permitted.

  • Not resell, sublicense, or distribute the Service without prior written consent.

5. Term and Termination

These Terms remain in effect until terminated. You may stop using the Service at any time. Seedfast reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or engage in Abusive or Extreme Usage.

6. Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Certain sections, including Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, and Limitation of Liability, will remain in effect after termination.

7. Fees and Payment

Seedfast offers both free and paid pricing plans. Prices and payment terms are stated on our website in the Pricing section. You are responsible for reviewing the prices before use.

Some plans may include Unlimited Seeding, meaning an unlimited number of Seeding Runs in practice, under a Fair Use approach. Because databases can vary widely in size, structure, and complexity, there is no single universal unit that accurately represents usage across every possible setup. To keep things fair and predictable, Seedfast’s pricing and backend are designed around what “unlimited” means for the average developer workflow.

This allows you to seed and work with your database freely, without constantly watching limits or counters, while ensuring the platform remains reliable and sustainable for all users. In rare cases of Abusive or Extreme Usage that falls far outside normal development patterns, Seedfast may take reasonable steps to protect system stability, including (without limitation) rate-limiting, throttling, temporarily restricting usage, requiring plan changes, or suspending access.

8. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights associated with Seedfast, including its software, branding, and content, belong to Seedfast or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service for commercial purposes without permission.

9. Data Protection and Privacy

Seedfast may process certain database information on secure external servers to provide and improve its AI-powered seeding functionality. Some metadata and schema-related data may be temporarily stored to ensure service performance, accuracy, and troubleshooting.

We take data protection seriously. All information is handled in accordance with industry security standards and never shared with third parties for commercial purposes.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. Seedfast makes no warranties regarding uptime, performance, or fitness for a particular purpose. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Seedfast shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
